Financial Service Representatives, Wilmington/Leland, NC (Area)

Corning Credit Union, one of the leading credit unions in the nation, is continuing to expand its operations in the greater Wilmington/Leland, NC area. The successful candidate will have prior experience at a financial institution.

Financial Service Representatives are responsible for meeting a wide-range of member needs through the seamless integration of Lending and Membership. This role requires strong sales, service, and relationship building skills as well as the flexibility to provide exceptional, “one-stop” service to our members to meet all of their financial needs.

A Bachelor's degree in business or finance is preferred, commensurate work experience considered. Prior/recent experience in Membership and Consumer Lending with loan approval authority required.

The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge in Consumer Lending, Mortgages, Membership operations and regulations.

Mortgage Originator, Wilmington/Leland, NC (Area)

Corning Credit Union is seeking an experienced Mortgage Originator for its Wilmington Branch locations.

This Branch Mortgage Originator is primarily responsible for assisting our members with their real estate lending needs within our branch locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Interviews loan applicants and assists members throughout the entire mortgage loan application process. Conducts member education and supports the member in selecting the right product for their needs.
  • Is creative in evaluating and offering alternative options to help qualify members for the loan requested.
  • Maintains strong knowledge regarding all applicable regulations and ensures adherence to Fair Lending requirements.
  • Executes accurate calculations and disclosures.
  • Builds and maintains strong realtor relationships and attends outside events and functions in order to grow the business and secure our reputation as a mortgage leader within the marketplace.
  • Maintains a specialized area of expertise such as; construction, low down payment programs, investment properties, or first time home buyers.

Qualifications and Education:

  • 3 years of mortgage origination experience
  • Exceptional sales and relationship building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills with the ability to think outside the box when working with complex lending and member situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications

Outside Mortgage Originator, Brunswick County, NC

Corning Credit Union (CCU) is seeking an experienced Outside Mortgage Originator for its Brunswick County, NC market.

The Outside Mortgage Originator is a residential originator that is primarily responsible for building CCU’s “brand” and reputation within the mortgage community, growing our portfolio and securing our position as a mortgage market leader. This is accomplished through a self-developed referral network using consistent business development, networking, and relationship building techniques and efforts. This position will spend a significant amount of time out of the office attending community meetings, onsite visits, promoting the business, and originating mortgages. Flexibility in hours is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Acts as a professional, mortgage-focused presence within the local community consistently focusing on growing CCU's mortgage portfolio and local market share through securing and fostering strong realtor, builder, developer, and attorney relationships.
    • Regularly attends realtor community functions
    • Participates as a member of Realtor or builder trade associations
    • Develops strong, individual relationships with key realtors, agencies or other centers of influence within the market through regular communication and touch points
  • Also works to develop community relationships and participates in other business development activities to enhance our exposure and overall brand within the market. Actively participates in the local Chamber of Commerce and community focused organizations.
  • Develops a portfolio that also includes pre-qualified members and proactively maintains contact with those members to increase our pre-approved to closed ratio.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing department on outbound marketing efforts including; mailings, flyers, presentation and seminar materials.
  • Adheres to all service level requirements and is highly responsive to members, realtors, and referral partners.
  • Interviews loan applicants and assists members throughout the loan application process. Uses knowledge and experience to evaluate creative options to meet member needs while also protecting the financial interest of the credit union.
  • Maintains strong knowledge regarding all applicable regulations and ensures adherence to Fair Lending requirements.

Qualifications and Education:

  • 3 years of outside mortgage sales experience
  • Exceptional sales and relationship building skills
  • Self-starter with a high degree of self-discipline and the ability to work well independently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with the willingness to actively seek out opportunities to promote CCU
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills with the ability to think outside the box when working with complex lending and member situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications
  • Solid knowledge of TRID requirements
  • Possesses knowledge of competitor products and can effectively compare and contrast CCU products and services
  • NMLS registration required

Talent Management Recruiter, Corning, NY

Corning Credit Union is seeking an experienced Talent Management Recruiter to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of HR recruiting experience and must possess a strong working knowledge of applicable regulations.

The Talent Management Recruiter will work directly with our Member Services division and is instrumental in supporting the Credit Union's vision of Providing Better Service Here than Anywhere Else in the World by securing exceptional talent that will embrace and employ that vision within our member service roles.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represents CCU in a highly professional and welcoming manner.
  • Generates excitement about the organization and collaborates with Human Resources to define and promote our brand as an employer of choice.
  • Works with Member Services management to assess staffing and recruiting needs across all three markets NY, PA, and NC.
  • Challenges the status quo, stays abreast of various recruiting tools, and continually looks for ways to improve the selection process using innovative recruiting techniques.
  • Attends local job fairs and establishes effective relationships with area colleges to source for talent.

Payroll Specialist, Corning, NY

Corning Credit Union is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of proven payroll processing experience and must possess a strong working knowledge of payroll best practices.

The role is responsible for all payroll activities:

  • Processing bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for 300+ employees
  • Reconciliation of payroll reports
  • Engaging in the year end process
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Working closely with the HR team regarding benefit deductions and leave of absences and disability
  • Responding to and resolving payroll questions and discrepancies and delivering quality service to employees
  • Monitoring tax payments and ensuring compliance with IRS and state regulations
  • Performing payroll audits to ensure accuracy
  • Providing on-boarding support for new hires
  • Assisting with HR projects and various administrative duties, as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and knowledge of ADP Reporting preferred
  • Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and research skills
  • Familiarity and knowledge of federal and state labor laws and tax regulations (NY, PA, NC)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of recent hands-on payroll processing experience is required
  • CPP or FCP certification is a plus

Compliance Officer, Corning, NY

Corning Credit Union is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer. The Compliance Officer reports to the Corporate Risk Manager, and will utilize their knowledge and leverage their experience to support the General Counsel in coordinating the credit union’s overall compliance with related laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, with special emphasis on Real Estate and Consumer Lending. He/She will also be dedicated to streamlining efforts, safety and soundness, in addition to staying abreast of the regulatory environment by conducting research and effectively analyzing changes applicable to regulation.

The successful candidate will possess an Associate’s degree - Bachelor’s degree in business or finance is preferred, a minimum of two years applied experience in the role and hold the Certified Compliance Officer designation. Additional experience in lieu of certification will also be considered, provided certification is obtained within one year of employment.

Required competencies include, but are not limited to:

  • Requires moderate to advanced compliance knowledge
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • The ability to effectively communicate detailed information to various levels of the organization

Member Service Representatives (Tellers), Corning, NY

Full-time Member Service Representatives are responsible for providing excellent, prompt, and professional customer service for members in person, via phone, and through the mail, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances.

Representatives balance each day's transactions, verify cash totals, answer members’ questions regarding products and services, and actively educate and cross-sell products and services when appropriate. Representatives also perform a variety of account maintenance duties, side-jobs of various clerical functions, and assist other Member Service Representatives with duties as necessary.

We are also seeking Part-time Member Service Representatives (Tellers) for our Main Office Branch. (Approximately 25 hours per week)

High School Diploma or GED and 1 - 3 years of Customer Service experience required.
