How to Get Started

  • To become a business member, all owners/principals/authorized signers who will be on the account must fall into our field of membership.
  • To begin the process of opening a business account, please fill out the following:
  • Please supply required supporting business documents. Note that business types other than a Single Member LLC or a Sole Proprietorship require an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to open an account. Single Member LLCs and Sole Proprietorships may use the owner's social security number. Use the following chart to determine which additional documents you need to open your business account:

  • Sole Proprietorship
    • DBA (Doing Business As) Certificate. May also be called Fictitious Name, Business, or Assumed Name Certificate (not required in North Carolina).
    Limited Liability Company or Professional LLC
    • Articles of Organization (with amendments)
    • Operating Agreement (not required in North Carolina)1
    • Foreign (or out of state) Corporations: Authorization to Do Business Within State (if applicable)
    Unincorporated Association
    • Bylaws
    Limited Partnership/Limited Liability Partnership
    • Certificate of Limited Partnership
    • Partnership Agreement (may be verbal in New York)
    Corporation
    • Articles or Certificate of Incorporation
    • Foreign (or out of state) Corporations: Authorization to Do Business Within State (if applicable)
    General Partnership
    • DBA (Doing Business As) Certificate. May also be called Fictitious Name, Business, or Assumed Name Certificate (not required in North Carolina).
    • Partnership Agreement (may be verbal in New York)
    • To open your membership, visit any Corning Credit Union branch or mail copies of the original documents to:
