FBI Warns of ATM Fraud Scheme
August 17, 2018
CCU is aware that the FBI has warned financial institutions about a potential global ATM "cash-out" fraud scheme. This type of attack is a coordinated attempt by cybercriminals to withdraw as much money from ATMs as possible using fraudulent debit cards.
Please know that your security is always our number one priority. We are constantly monitoring for suspicious activity and we have multiple layers of security to keep you (and your account) safe.
As always, we recommend that you monitor your account on a regular basis and contact us if you ever notice suspicious activity. This could include transactions you weren't expecting, or receiving phone calls asking for account information (remember, we'll
never call you and ask for confidential information to verify your identity or your debit card activity).
The easiest way to keep an eye on your account is to enroll for online banking and/or our mobile app, sign up for eAlerts, and to register your cards in our text messaging fraud alert service (visit
this page to learn more). Remember, Visa's Zero Liability Policy protects you from unauthorized use of your Visa® credit or debit card when you notify us of the fraudulent charges.*
